Side effects by strength

Scalp irritation is the most common side effect at either strength and is often linked to the base rather than the minoxidil itself. Higher strength may slightly increase the chance of irritation or facial hair in some people.

Start with the label: pick the product made for your sex and the strength you need. Then think about comfort. If regular formulas have made your scalp itchy or tight, a low-alcohol solution or foam is worth trying.
